1. Delivery Leadtimes

Wedding dresses made to order can take up to 6 months to arrive, and we aim to have ordered dresses delivered to the boutique 3-4 months prior to the wedding day to allow time for fittings and alterations. (We usually suggest 2-3 fitting appointments to ensure a perfect fit for your big day). This means we look to ideally be placing wedding dress orders 9 months prior to your wedding.

If you’re planning a short engagement, please don’t think you cannot have a dress made to order – simply give us a call or make an appointment to come in and see us, and we can discuss options with you.

2. Enable Yourself Full Choice

The closer you leave it to the wedding day to shop for wedding dresses, the more chance you have of narrowing your choice. Although some designers can work to shorter timescales, often brides find themselves coveting a dress that simply can’t be made in time. To avoid any disappointment or having a smaller range of dresses available to choose from – start shopping for your dress 9-12 months before the big day.

3. Setting The Style

The style of your wedding dress can often influence the style of bridesmaid dresses, mother of the bride or groom outfits, as well potentially groom and grooms mens suits. Allowing plenty of time to source your bridal party outfits following the order of your wedding dress will reduce any rush decisions and help minimise stress levels at a time you should be feeling your happiest.
