Wow, what another glorious week we have had with the weather, it is true that what they say about there being no better place than the UK when we have the weather. Being in the middle of the country surrounded by the gorgeous Malvern Hills, the lovely relaxed market town feel of Hereford and yet just a stone throw away from the hustle and bustle of Birmingham City Centre really makes us feel very lucky indeed. Obviously, it’s not just the amazing weather and the superb location that makes us feel that way, but of course our wonderful brides and exquisite (even if we say so ourselves) wedding dresses.
In most appointments, I love that initial time when the bride browses the rails – We step back allowing her the time and space to breathe and take it all in. As she wanders around the boutique delicately touching gowns which jump out at her as something special. She might like the cut, the detail or fabric. Peeling out the wedding dresses that she can almost see herself in. It has an air of romanticism to it and I suppose in some ways it is the start of a love affair. When the bride falls in love with her wedding dress. We allow this time, we stand back and watch from afar and every time it makes us feel lucky to be working in such a wonderful industry. Of course, this time is also valuable to us as we get a feeling for what our bride is looking for without any invasion of her space, her story or her feeling intimidated.
Each bride has their own personal styles and tastes and the time at the beginning of the appointments tells us so much without words but for some unknown reason one dress, in particular, keeps getting selected. So this week at Gatehouse Brides, we have to pay a tribute to Cassie from the MiaMia range. We have always been huge fans of this dress because of its delicate blush pink tone and exquisite lace detail. It is genuinely beautiful and is so well constructed it sits and flows beautifully on almost every bride. Of course, it’s not always the dress each bride ends up choosing as her own but it is still amazing to see it getting picked time and time again.
It’s not hard to see why, is it? It has been so popular with requests to try it on we thought maybe it’s down to the placement in the boutique, so we moved it. And guess what? It was still a number 1 hit! I might hide it completely and see if it still rises to the top!
In all seriousness, each season we do pick our wedding dresses with our brides in mind. The vast majority of our brides are lovely local ladies whether from Worcester themselves or have travelled from the local market town of Leominster, Ross on Wye and even from across the not so far away border of Wales. To see time and time again that our dedication to choosing the right dresses at the right price points for our customers and providing them with a service which can’t be found anywhere else is a dream come true.
